Hello!
I’m Anjali, a multidisciplinary artist from New Jersey, who is now based in Southern California. I currently attend Laguna College of Art and Design, and I’m set to graduate in the Spring of 2026.
I specialize in visual development, costume design, character design, and book illustration, and I enjoy adapting to different styles and genres. In my free time, I sharpen my traditional painting skills, go antiquing, and obsessively rearrange my furniture while Kate Bush is playing in the background.
While I love a classic fairytale, I find that what resonates with me are stories that have a smidge of oddity—there’s something ugly, something out of place, an undercurrent of strangeness winding throughout. There is a ridiculousness and a mysticism within these stories that pushes me to create.
I'm always seeking new ways to bring texture, history, and a sense of lived-in storytelling to my work. Whether through a character’s worn-in costume or the eerie charm of an unfamiliar forest, I want my art to evoke curiosity and emotion—inviting you to step into a place that feels almost real…
and just a little off-kilter.
